If you answered yes to any of these questions, Centa’s Business Scholarship Programme is the next step for you. This training programme could literally change the course of your working life offering you the opportunity to test a business idea with a group of like-minded entrepreneurs. Participants will be encouraged to network with peers and develop their “Dragon’s Den” style pitch to investors.
 
In addition, completion of the programme will give you the OCR qualification in Understanding Business Enterprise Activities. This qualification provides candidates with a high quality, industry-recognised award. It is a vocationally-related qualification that provides valuable opportunities for individuals to gain underpinning knowledge andunderstanding in aspects of both enterprise and the setting up and running of a business.
 
CENTA is able to apply for funding from the Train to Gain programme and thus the course and qualification and all support is completely free to you. Run by entrepreneurs for entrepreneurs, this course will show you how to evaluate a good idea, assess whether you can turn it into a business, identify your strength and weaknesses, help you find the right customers and develop a financial plan to succeed.
 
Getting help when you decide to run your own business is crucial to its success, Centa’a Business Scholarship Programme aims to give you the tools to ‘get off on the right foot’. If you’re stuck for finance, we’ll also help you to develop a business plan to raise the money you need to get started!
 
Who is this for?
 
This would be a suitable programme for anyone wishing to start their own business.
 
How will it work?
 
Candidates plan a programme of development and assessment with their assessor and construct a business plan. Candidates will also receive support through face to face meetings with their business adviser at Centa. Your advisor also welcomes calls or emails to help you along your journey. The advisors also run their own businesses.
 
In addition, a series of ½ and full day workshops will be held to teach you the skills of business planning and running a business.
